Nepal Students Adventure Trekking Tour is an exciting adventure trip to Nepal, intended to offer taste of Nepal's diverse pleasures in a short time to the young travelers and school students on a tight schedule. Drive to Pokhara and head east into the charming foothills, where the majestic peaks of the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri and Machhapurchre preside over traditional villages and traced hillsides. The relatively gentle hiking trails (maximum elevation 2800m – 4230m depending on tour program) lead you to base of giant Annapurna I (8091m) and back to Pokhara and fond farewell from your trekking crew.

We at Wilderness Excursion regularly operate Nepal trips for school and university students. Here, we have provided optinal itineraries that we presented to the student groups. Our outdoor adventure visit and hike is good for team building, leadership and great learning for the students. It is a life changing experience. A drive to Trishuli River places you in the expert hands of our Rafting guide, who will lead you through one day of white water fun. We, Wilderness Excursion has included the Trekking, Heritage Sightseeing, River Rafting and Chitwan Jungle Safari in this itinerary. Nepal Students Adventure Trek will provide a change of pace to find you high on Himalayas, water adventure, cultural Kathmandu Valley tour and Jungle Safari- a top and an elephant in the Royal Chitwan National Park, as you use many rolls of film capturing the jungle rich of wild life. You also have free time to explore Kathmandu for bargain shopping and walk on your own. So if you fancy heading deep into the jungle, walking among the majestic Himalayas and having a riveting cultural experience to boot, the Nepal student Adventure is definitely for you.

Day 01: Join Kathmandu
Arrival in Kathmandu, Wilderness Excursion representative will receive you from the airport and check into hotel. We have short briefing upon arriving in Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu valley guided tour.
After break we start full day Kathmandu Valley exotic guided tour in UNESCO listed world heritage sites including Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Kathmandu Durbar square, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath Stupa. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Day trip River Rafting and drive to Chitwan.
After breakfast drive about 3 hours bus ride to Phisling Rafting starting point, we enjoy thrilling 3 hours rafting in Trushuli River. We stop for lunch in River bank and again continue rafting. After ending the rafting trip we take the bus to Sauraha (Chitwan National Park). 04:45pm: Village walk 05:30 Sunset view 08:00pm Tharu steak dance and live culture show.

Day 04: Jungle activities in Chitwan National Park. ( B, L, D)
06:00 Wakeup call 06:30 Breakfast 08:00 Canoeing, Bird Watching, Elephant ride, Visit to Elephant Breeding centre (2-4 hours) 12:00 Lunch 14:30 Elephant back Safari to see wildlife such one-horned rhinos, deer, tiger, bear, moneys. 19:00 Dinner

Day 05: Chitwan to Pokhara by tourist coach (B)
After Breakfast, drive to Pokhara. After hotel check in we take a walk around lake side, boating in Phewa Lake. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 06: Pokhara – Hile (1475m), 3 hours walk
One and half hour drive takes us to Nayapul the starting point of our trek. We cross the bridge over Modi Khola near ACAP check post and follow the Burundi Khola and then slowly ascend through rice fields to Hille and stop for the night.

Day 07: Hile – Ghorepani/2855m, 6-7 hours walk
We start our day with a steep ascent to Ulleri (m) where we get our first view of the Himalayas. We then continue through Asia’s biggest rhododendron forests. We can observe colorful flowers of it if you trek during the spring season. We reach our destination Ghorepani after walking 6-7 hours and stop for the night.

Day 08: Ghorepani – Poon Hill/3210 – Tadapani/2680m, 5 hrs walk
An early climb to the summit of Poon Hill (3200 m) to watch the sun rise across a magnificent Himalayan panorama. After breakfast we follow a long ridge through rhododendron forests to Deurali. We then walk through impressive river gorges with the chance to see Langur monkeys in the trees. Our destination is Tadapani.

Day 09: Tadapani – Ghandruk - Pokhara.
We walk along a shaded forest trail, followed by terraced fields of maize and potatoes to Ghandruk. From here we have fantastic views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare. We pass through a charming village of Ghandruk, the famous Gurung village with terraces and offers excellent mountain views. We continue journey to lower Ghandruk and take the bus to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu
After breakfast in hotel we take scenic tourist coach drive to Kathmandu. We have lunch break on the way. Stay overnight at hotel. Relaxing evening in Kathmandu

Day 11: Bhaktapur Tour
Discover the most significant medieval old town of Bhakatapur, meaning "the city of devotees" explore one of the oldest Hindu and Buddhist temples, old royal palaces including Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Taumadhi Square, Dattatraya Square and Pottery Square where you will observe the local giving shapes clay pots which is one of the world's oldest profession. Stay overnight in Bhaktapur.

Day 12: Final Departure
Fly back to homeland. Wilderness Excursion will drop you at international airport for Final departure.

  • ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) Permit and TIMS Card.
  • Government tax, vat, service charges, entrance fees in Chitwan National Park.

  • Bar bills, beverages such as coke fanta minerals water etc.
  • Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Bhaktapur.
  • Personal nature expenses, toiletries, laundry etc.
  • Travel insurance and rescue operation in case of emergency.
  • Gratitude and tips for your guide and porter. (Please throw away at least U$ 8 to the guide per day and U$ 5 to each porter. However, it is your intuition to give or not to give the tip) 

 

Packing List and Equipment for Nepal Students Adventure Trek.

Footwear

  • A waterproof trekking boot with suitable ankle support that have been worn-in prior to the trek,
  • Trail shoes or trainer or casual shoes, for walking or strolling around(optional)
  • 2-3 Pairs of warm socks for colder areas depending on trekking duration.
  • Gaiters, in case of rain or snow
  • Sandal or flip flop to take shower and walk around,

2-3 pair of smooth thin wool, nylon or Capilene Liner socks to be worn next to the skin. This reduces the incidence of blisters and hot-spots and makes the outer sock last longer before needing to be changed. They should fit well with your heavyweight socks.

Leg wears

  • Trekking/hiking casual trousers and short, Thermal leggings for colder areas.
  • Long skirt for women as an alternative to trousers and Waterproof trousers.


Body

  • Selection of hiking/trekking T-shirts, and long sleeved shirts, preferably not cotton
  • Thermal and warm shirts, possibly fleece shirt for colder areas.
  • Fleece jacket or warm wool jumper
  • Hard shell jacket with hood and hard shell pants if trekking in colder months/winter.
  • Windbreaker or waterproof jacket for higher altitudes
  • Down jacket (optional for cold nights and mornings; can be hired in Kathmandu cheaply)

Head/Hands

  • Wool or fleece hat, or balaclava
  • Hat or cap for sun protection while trekking
  • Sunglasses or goggles
  • Warm gloves if trekking in cold season.
  • Buff and higher and colder place, not very important for ABC Trek.
  • Large handkerchief/bandana for neck
  • Head lamp/torch with spare batteries.

Personal Trekking Equipment

  • Strong rucksack or large hold all to be carried by porters
  • Day sack to carry valuables such as passport, cash, camera, travel documents personally
  • Plastic bags or stuff sacks to store/separate trekking gear inside your main bag, Personal first aid kit to include essential items, Adjustable 3 section trekking pole
  • 3-4 season sleeping bag, Camera and memory cards, charger, tripod if necessary, towel and toiletries., rain cover for yourself and luggage, multi-purpose hiking pocket knife.

Optional items

  • Binoculars, Books or an eBook, Altimeter, Compass and GPS.
  • Playing cards, backgammon and chess set etc.

For water

  • Two water bottles one liter each is fine or preferably camel bag water bottle. Water treatment tablets: Iodine, Dioxide tablets, Taste neutralizer tablets remove iodine taste if necessary. Vacuum flask and a cup preferably is doing teahouse.

Pee Bottle (Optional) but very useful.
Pee funnel for women (optional) Lightweight urinary director.
Hand/foot warmers (Optional) Recommended if you easily get cold hands and feet 1-3 pairs.

Personal first aid kit (small and simple) Aspirin, Moleskin, Adhesive tape, Band-Aids. Scissor, Blade,

Drugs/medications/prescriptions Climbers should bring Mupirocin (Bactroban) cream, excellent topical antibiotic for scrapes and cuts. Cirprofloxin (Cipro) 500mg tablets for travelers' diarrhea and for urinary tract infections. Loperamide (Lomotil) or Immodium for diarrhea. Acetazolamide (Diamox) 125 or 250mg tablets for alltitude sickness. Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) 200mg tablets for altitude headaches, sprains, aches, etc. Excedrin for headaches. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) 325mg tablets for stomach sensitivity.
