Met as guests and left as friends

- Katrin Krause, Germany

After our first visit and trek in Nepal in 2015 we happily returned in November 2017. Besides attending a Nepali wedding in Kathmandu, we had a couple of extra days at hand that we wanted to spend again in the mountains. Since our Manaslu trip with Pradip we were indulging in reminiscences and truly longed for a soon repetition. It was not at all a question whom to contact for our 2nd trip: Wilderness Excursions was set! Based on the few details we shared with Pradip and along with the experience from Manaslu, Pradip knew exactly what we were looking for: authenticity, local life and stunning nature scenes. Given the few days we had, he created a unique itinerary for the Tamang Heritage Trail to meet our specific needs. This time we trekked with Priscilla and Hira (or “hero”, as we well-intentioned tend to call him). Both were absolutely amazing and so much fun to be with. After only a few days it felt as if we would be out trekking with friends: we laughed, learned, enjoyed and trekked a lot! Above and beyond all expectations they managed to provide us access to an authentic local cheese factory, brought us to Parvati Pond, showed us a (hidden) ancient mud-build monastery, helped improving my Momo-creation skills and made it possible for me to get fresh Tibetan Pepper directly from the harvest, to name only a few. Lovely Priscilla and the incredibly energetic Hira were taking care of everything, reading our minds and supported every wish we made. We will truly continue trekking with Wilderness Excursions as they enable and facilitate trekking exactly as we want it to be: individual, truly local, informative, sustainable, insightful and relaxed. The flexibility offered paired with their experience and knowledge is the perfect base for our unique, adventurous and yet save trips.
