Yala Peak is a small mountain in the Langtang area in Nepal. It is considered a trekking peak by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), and is a somewhat simple, non-technical climb. The summit is very popular for being a superb vantage point from which Shishapangma (8013m), the highest mountain wholly in Tibet, and the lowest of the 14 eight-thousanders, can be seen.

Langtang Valley trek combined with Yala Peak climbing trip in Nepal is best right choice for those who wish to stand on a Himalayan summit but have a limited amount of time and budget available. It offers the best thrill of venture trekking and peak climbing in the Langtang region way beyond simply hiking. The Yala peak climb is non-technical. Prior climbing experience is not required however outfit experience and a reasonably good level of  physical fitness and stamina is required.

Hiking through the through lush green forest and beautiful hamlets of Domen, Bamboo, Lama Hotel, Langtang village and Kenjin Gompa, we arrive the wonderful base camp of Yala peak. We will also witness the damage done by April 2015 earthquake in Nepal mainly in the Langtang village which totally swift away the whole beautiful village. You will have stunning views of many beautiful mountains – Lantang Lirung (7246m), Lenpo Gang 7083m), Dorje Lakpa (6990m), Gangchenpo (6388m) and mighty Shishapangma (8027m) on the Tibetan side. Thus this 2 weeks long and one of the short trekking peak climbing with Wilderness Excursion in Nepal is one of the best selection to have the climbing experience in short time duration in the Himalayas.

Yala Peak Climbing Permit:
Yala Peak Climbing requires only Langtang Trekking permit, Langtang National Park entrance permit cost NPR 3390 per person and TIMS Card is must that costs USD 20. As Yala Peak has been taken off from Trekking peak list then no climbing permit is required.

Itinerary
Our Standard itinerary is designed for 15 days with spare day for relaxing detours including transportation days to/from the trek. The itinerary may differ depending on your interest, time and level of your fitness. The itinerary can be 1 day shorter if we end the trip at Syabrubesi again where we start the trip. Our carefully designed 15 days itinerary is made sure for relaxing and comfortable trekking. Wilderness Excursion´s shortest itinerary will be 10 days long and that is only suitable for well fit and experienced trekkers.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01 :Arrive Kathmandu Arrive in Kathmandu & transfer to hotel Arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport where you will be welcomed by Adventure 14 Peaks representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free until evening when you'll enjoy a welcome drinks with your guide and introduce each other. Overnight in Kathmandu.
  • Day 02 :Preparation and Kathmandu tour Kathmandu Sightseeing & permit preparation Your guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning to begin your city tour of Kathmandu. You will visit the Boudhanath temple, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, Pashupatinath, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and possibly view cremation ceremonies along the banks of the Bagmati River. Continue on to Patan Durbar Square to take in ancient Nepalese architecture and end your tour with a lunch. Then, you will visit ancient Nepalese art in the Patan museum. Overnight in Kathmandu
  • Day 03 :Kathmandu to Syabrubesi Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1462m) (8 hrs) We head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabrubesi. The first part of your trip we will drive up to Trishuli Bazaar smoothly. Then, the path moves along the gravel road. During the rainy season, the road is sometimes blocked due to landslides. Stay overnight at lodge in Syabrubesi.
  • Day 04 :Trek to Lama Hotel Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m) 5 hrs Today, the first part of the trail crosses through the Langtang Khola. This trail gradually ascents up to Bamboo passing through Landslide. Afterwards, we gently ascend to Rimche (2400m) through Bamboo (1960m) which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola. We will have our lunch at this place. At the end the trail is level to the Lama Hotel. En route you could see red pandas, monkeys and bears if you are lucky. Overnight at lodge
  • Day 05 :Trek to Langtang Trek to langtang from Lama Hotel; we continue gently ascending above the Langtang Khola. As the trail proceeds, it becomes steeper. From time and again we can have the most exotic sights of Langtang Lirung lying at 7246 m. The trail leads to a log bridge and on climbing further we come across lush meadows of Ghora Tabela at 2992m. We will see several lodges and a police check post. Further on, the route opens up into a wide valley of yak pastures and scattered Tamang villages showcasing water-driven mills and prayer wheels. On descending for a while, we arrive at Langtang village after crossing a stream and reaching to the height 3430 m. Langtang village is the headquarters for Langtang National Park and has flat- roofed Tibetan style houses, hotels and cultivated lands yielding buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips, barley etc. Overnight at lodge

  • Day 06 :Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) 4 hrs The trail skirts gradually through rich yak pastures and interesting traditional villages of Muna to Singdun. We cross a wooden cantilever bridge and reach a wide valley after climbing a moraine. Finally, on ascending along the mountain passes we arrive at Kyanjin Gompa. There is a small monastery and a government- operated cheese factory. Overnight at lodge
  • Day 07 :Extra day at Kyanjin Gompa Additional day to rest at Kyanjin Gompa and do excursion to Kyanjin Ri or Tsergo Ri (4985m) to acclimatize or This is a day to rest and relax. There are several worthwhile excursions up to the glaciers. Also we have option to hike to Langtang Shisa Kharka. The valley is in the midst of exceptionally rugged and beautiful mountain ranges, ringed with glaciers, snowfalls and huge moraines. Overnight at lodge.
  • Day 08 :Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp Today we trek along the rocky glacier trail. While trekking you will enjoy with the views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Yala peak and others. Your overnight stay will be at the tented camp and the food will be prepared by our professional camping cook.
  • Day 09 :Summit Yala Peak (5732 m) and back to Kyanjin Gompa Today our main adventure day begins. An early morning we wake up and prepare ourselves for the climb. When you reach the summit of Yala peak, you will be stunned by the panoramic views of Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung and many other Tibetan mountains. After the summit you will return to Kyanjin Gompa for overnight stay at lodge.
  • Day 10 :Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m) After breakfast we take a route back to Lama Hotel following the same trail that we had retraced before climbing to Langsisa Ri Peak. We stop briefly for lunch on the way and thereafter continue our walk down to Lama Hotel.

  • Day 11 :Trek to Thulo Syabru Village (2230m) Today we trek to Thulo Syabru from Lama Hotel. We set off for after hot breakfast. From Lama Hotel you continue down the valley crossing the Langtang Khola just before the village of Bamboo. You will contour round the head of the valley and Thulo Syabru will come into view perched atop of a ridge. You drop down to cross a bridge and then climb up through terraced fields and farm houses to reach this pretty village. Overnight Hotel Snowfall which has en suite facilities.
  • Day 12 :Trek to Dhunche (2100m). Today; after having breakfast at lodge, we start our trek and today is the last day of our trekking and it is easy trekking to Dhunche. We walk through forests of fir and rhododendron, down to Barku and then walk along the road until Dunche. Overnight in Dunche, high above the Trisuli river. Where our vehicle will be waiting for us.
  • Day 13 :Drive to Kathmandu (1300m). We drive back to Kathmandu through the endless terraces of lowland Nepal, the 7 hour drive get back us to the buzz and bustle of Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu
  • Day 14 :Buffer day (If bad weather occurs). Attempt again for the ascent
