5 Days Bigu Gompa trek in Dolakha district is one of the less visited trekking route situated northeast region along the rolwaling valley trek of Nepal that offer the trekkers experiencing country, local Tamang and Sherap culture and staying in home stay provides experience of direct interact with local people. The main feature of this trek is the Bigu Gompa and Bigu village that was completely damaged and many of local houses were also damage after earthquake in 2015 and now it has been restored.
Bigu Gompa trekking is short but it is more cultural and less touristic area. Bigu Gompa; the female Buddhism school and monastery you can visit and also spend some days to there with nuns as a volunteer tourist if you wish. The trek begins after the drive from Kathmandu to Sorung Khola via Charikot by bus or private drive. Following the very narrow local walking trail in one day you will reach the monastery. Warm welcoming by Buddhist nuns and discover its surrounding beauties. A day excursion around Bigu and meet the local Sherpa people, following some of the ancient Buddhist stupas you feel as a Buddhist person.

Itinerary
Day 01: To Sarang Khola from Kathmandu.
A long road journey begins from Kathmandu by shared local bus or jeep on dust and crowd road. We will stop at Sarong Khola for overnight stay.
Day 02: Trek to Bigu Gompa
About 4 to 5 hours uphill trek to Bigu Gompa community lodge or Monastery along the remote villages, river valley with suspension bridge crossing. Follow the Buddhist footsteps and many small chorten along the way. The bigu monastery also offer simple accommodation for tourist with simple meal.
Day 03: Extra day in Bigu Village
An additional day at Bigu Gompa, explore surroundings and visit to bigu monastery, meet the Nuns in nunnery and walk around village
Day 04: Trek To Dolangsa Village.
Trek to Dolangsa village via small pass of Tingsang La (3300 m). Trek about 6 hours along the jungle, great view of Mt. Gauri Shankhar mountain range, stay in Sherpa village. Local house stay with local food.
Day 05: Trek to Barabise & drive to Kathmandu
Trek to Barabishe along the villages and paddy field, walk along the local vegetables farmers, Lunch in market then drive to Kathmandu, .
