The very first day of the tour begins early, at approximately 6:30 AM when your knowledgeable guide will come to your hotel to take you on an amazing experience. The beginning of the journey is the local bus ride to Machhakhola. It will take us roughly nine hours. The first four hours of the journey will be spent traveling on smooth, sealed roads, giving you time to unwind and take in the beautiful scenery. But as you get closer to Dhading Besi (650 m), the scenery changes and the road gets rougher and less cemented. The trip becomes much more exciting and exciting throughout this stretch of the route, which leads to the district headquarters of Dhading district, Arughat, Soti Khola, and Machhkhola. Accept the ruggedness of the road as it sets the stage for the thrilling adventure that awaits you in the Manaslu region.
We start our day's excursion by following the path through the picturesque valley as the sun rises. The trail takes us to Sirdibas Village, where we are greeted with a breathtaking view of the towering Shringi Himal, whose presence awes us.
After over a suspension bridge, we prepare for a strenuous climb to Philim, where the sound of tumbling waterfalls fills the valley's walls with melody. The path invites us along, directing our steps through the warm embrace of Pewa Village and Ekle Bhatti, each of which radiates a distinct charm. We keep on our daring journey, venturing outside the boundaries of the valley, until we eventually arrive at Deng Village.
We begin our day with a vigorous ascent uphill, testing our muscles and lungs to keep up. But do not be alarmed; the magnificent vistas that lie ahead will make every step worthwhile. Falling softly, we discover that we are retracing our steps to the serene embrace of the Budi Gandaki River. We follow the trail as it winds through the picturesque valley, passing by small communities that provide a window into the way of life there.
Upon arriving at Namrung Village, we are greeted with a lovely sight: an abundance of Mani stones, each adorned with a complex set of Tibetan mantras. This is a gentle reminder that we are traveling farther into Tibetan land, where rich cultural traditions and historical sites await us.
We take advantage of the day to make a quick side excursion to Prok village, which is a fascinating two-hour walk each way. We take in all the charms of this undiscovered treasure along the road before returning to Namrung, our base for the day.
We start our journey with a filling breakfast to prepare our bodies for the next six to seven hours of sensory-rich hiking. The route opens up in front of us, guiding us in the direction of the charming village of Samagaun. We are in awe of the majestic presence of Mount Manaslu as we go, as we are treated to breathtaking views of this magnificent mountain.
There are two major places along the way that provide us with panoramic views of this incredible peak. First, we stop in the village of Lho to take in the captivating sight of Mount Manaslu. Its towering snow-capped peak draws our gaze and serves as a constant reminder of the Himalayas' majesty. Moving farther, we arrive at Syala, another viewpoint that provides us with a stunning perspective of this mighty mountain. The breathtaking sight leaves an indelible mark on our memories, a testament to the unparalleled beauty of nature.
We embark on a lovely drive as the morning breaks, passing through the enormous yak and cattle fields. The trail winds through this tranquil setting, providing us spectacular views of the surrounding majestic peaks, the most prominent of which is Manaslu. The expansive vistas that open up before us serve as a constant reminder of the Himalayas' wild, unadulterated magnificence.
As we proceed, we progressively descend into the valley below, staying on the trail that meanders through the picturesque landscape. As we proceed, the isolated Tibetan refugee settlement of Samdo becomes visible, tucked away within the protective arms of the untamed mountains. This village is evidence of the tenacity and fortitude of its people, and its proximity to the Nepal-Tibetan border adds an air of mystique and intrigue to the surroundings.
It will take us four to five hours to go to Larkya La Phedi, also known as Dharmasala, where we are going today. Following breakfast, we'll progressively ascend via stunning peaks, glaciers, moraines, and other amazing scenes. Furthermore, walking at a high altitude presents challenges, but every step offers breathtaking views of the majestic Manaslu Himalayas. Thus, since the tea house is unavailable for Samdo and Dharmasal, we will have lunch at Dharmasala. Fill the water container to the brim with enough snakes before traveling to Dharmasala. To acclimate, hike for at least 100 to 200 meters after arriving at Dharmasala.
Today is the biggest day in our journey as we start our ascent to the magnificent Larkya La Pass, which is boldly situated at an elevation of 5160 meters. This high mountain pass is particularly significant to our journey since it provides an unmatched vantage point from which to view the incredibly beautiful Himalayan peaks that surround us. When we arrive at the pass, a breathtaking view of the mighty Larkya peak, the commanding bulk of Mt. Manaslu, the majesty of Ratna Chuli, the breathtaking Cheo Himal, and numerous more snow-capped peaks dotting the horizon appear before our eyes. The views are breathtaking and beckon us to fully appreciate the magnificence of these natural treasures.
We start from the pass on an exciting descent, following a very rocky path that takes us through the tough landscape. We pass a lake that has frozen over, a sparkling reminder of the harsh weather in this high-altitude region. The air cools down as predicted, bringing the harsh reality of the alpine environment to mind. We descend more with each step, feeling a mixture of amazement and excitement at the vast grandeur all around us.
We keep traveling along the path, getting closer to our goal with every step we take. At last, we reach Bhimthang, a serene sanctuary tucked away among the breathtaking scenery. This is a time to savor, to stop,, and to consider the amazing adventure we have been on and the obstacles we have overcome. As we settle into our surroundings, let the sense of accomplishment wash over us, as we bask in the serenity and beauty of Bhimthang.
We are leaving this morning after an amazing trekking excursion and returning to Kathmandu via a picturesque route. Even though the road ride ahead is lengthy, the beauty that appears before our eyes makes it an unforgettable experience. We settle in for an eight- or nine-hour ride on the public bus, enjoying the beautiful scenery as we go. Alternatively, by choosing a jeep, we can reduce the distance to a more feasible 6 to 7 hours, which will guarantee a more seamless and expeditious return.
We catch views of the breathtaking mountains that encircle us as we travel through terraced farmlands and verdant hills. As they tower above the horizon, these magnificent peaks serve as a constant reminder of the amazing scenes that we have spent the entire journey exploring. The trip back to Kathmandu takes on the qualities of the natural wonders that have shaped our souls forever.
Please be aware that our standard itinerary is subject to change. Factors beyond our control, such as adverse weather, natural disasters, new government policies, political instability, or medical emergencies, can impact our plans. We are committed to finding the best possible solutions to minimize disruptions and will rely on your cooperation and adaptability.

Yes, you can get vegetarian food on the Manaslu trek, as tea houses widely offer vegetarian options like Dal Bhat, noodles, fried rice, and vegetable curries. You should also be able to find some vegan-friendly dishes, though you may need to communicate your needs clearly to the tea house cooks. It's recommended to bring your own snacks and energy bars for additional support, and to ask for food prepared with vegetable oil instead of butter or ghee.
Yes, pre-training would be beneficial, you can go jugging or go to gym and even hiking helps you to undertake this adventure. Taking a sleeping bag is optional, though the lodges also provide you with blankets/quilts (pretty clean), but having a personal sleeping bag is optional. Renting in Kathmandu is available as well. Having a liner is a good idea, and you can pile up the lodge blanket on top of it, so sleeping bags are suggested if you are trekking in high season.

Though tipping is not mandatory, your guide expects a tip after the trip completion as a gesture of appreciation for his hard work and service. There is no specific amount; it really depends on the giver and your intuition. And it is your choice whether to tip or not.
Tipping is optional but customary to show appreciation for your guide and porter. While there is no fixed amount, a tip that is too small may be seen as inadequate. For a 10-day trek, we recommend a minimum of USD 100 for your guide and $70 for your porter. The appropriate amount can also be based on the trek's difficulty and length, with many travelers opting to tip around 10% of their total tour package value. Here is information on the tipping guide and the porter.
